Another newspaper sketch. It is surprising how much of the text can still be seen, yet doesn't disturb or interfere with the image.

This is an example of having additional time to develop the sketch, and move to a second stage. It becomes a caricature of a caricature, and usually produces unexpected results.

OBITUARY SKETCHES

During my recent commute to Waterloo Station every morning, I would use the opportunity to draw whoever appeared on the obituaries page. These sketches were done with ballpoint pen,directly on the newsprint, and the results are featured here. I hope you like them. Ric.
